SPB CERTIFIES THE EXCELLENCE OF ITS PURCHASING MANAGEMENT

SPB > UNTERNEHMEN > SPB CERTIFIES THE EXCELLENCE OF ITS PURCHASING MANAGEMENT

SPB has overcome the audit carried out by Bureau Veritas, as an independent third entity, to obtain the UNE 15896: The 2015 standard for Value-Added Purchasing Management.

This certification assures the quality of SPB's internal purchasing processes and its relationship with its suppliers. Certainly, this UNE involves a great contribution to SPB's business development as a household and personal care product manufacturer leader.

For this process, the purchasing management of SPB has relied upon the consultancy firm Fullstep. Fullstep has analyzed SPB's management model and has contributed by proposing a series of amendments to facilitate the implementation of the UNE.

The company is a member of the Spanish Association of Purchasing Professionals (AERCE) whose vice president is José Francisco Casas, one of the major drivers of the UNE 15896:2015. He is also president of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management.

At the event, held in Madrid, Jose Miguel Zorrero, the Purchasing Manager of SPB, has received the certification from Ximena Mantilla, Innovation & Sales Manager of Bureau Veritas Certification. Iván Martin, UNE 15986 Certification Director of AERCE and Agustin Ull, Consultancy Director of Fullstep, also attended this event.

Jose Miguel Zorrero, SPB purchase Manager, said that „the Certification involves the company commitment for seeking excellence in purchasing management. This is not only the improvement in cost efficiency but also to boost the image of transparency in our relationship with our suppliers and the continuous improvement of our purchases and management. In conclusion, it has enabled us to obtain higher rigour and transparency for arrangements with our suppliers“.

The purchasing manager of SPB has also explained that „we are the first company in the Valencian Community that has obtained this certification that allows us to stress the importance that the purchasing area has in the company, not only because of efficiency and profitability but also to provide value in innovation management risk or corporate compliance“.

The UNE 15896:2015 certification is supported by European associations that have compiled the best practices from various contexts into one model. The certification provides companies with common criteria for measuring purchasing management; a process of continuous improvement and a comparison with other experiences in a variety of European companies.
